Heavyweight knitted fabric used for outerwear production

Fleece & knitted outerwear manufacturer

Sherpa hoodies, quilted jackets and half-zips — the winter half of a knitwear programme, made on the same floor as the summer half.

Knitted outerwear sits in an awkward gap: heavier and more constructed than a sweatshirt, but sewn on knitwear machinery rather than in a woven jacket factory. That is exactly the gap we work in. Sherpa, quilted knits, bonded fleece and heavy terry all come off our own knitting machines and through our own dyehouse, then onto a sewing line set up for stretch fabrics.

Recycled polyester is now the default request on European winter programmes, and we knit fleece from post-consumer recycled yarn with traceability back to the yarn supplier. Anti-pill finishing is not optional on a fleece garment that has to look presentable after a season of wear, and it is a finishing setting rather than an upcharge.

The commercial reality of outerwear is cutting yield: bulky panels waste fabric quickly if the marker is planned against a guessed size ratio. We plan against your actual ratio before quoting, so the costing reflects how the garment will really be cut rather than a theoretical best case.
